WebNov 27, 2013 · It doesn't matter if the engine is hot or cold. And it's random. Sometimes it will start right up and other times it has to turn over for 5-8 seconds. No check engine light. I will try to flood it in the morning and let you know what happens. Takes at least 4 times to use remote start.

If I crank it over for a long time, it will start normally and runs just fine. Just yesterday and for 18K it required about 2 seconds of crank to start the car. As batteries age they don't supply as much amperage when starting the car. I wouldn't really worry about the longer start times unless it's taking several seconds for the car to finally run.
